Bee Alive Conference Honey Show

GENERAL RULES FOR ENTRY

* The Black Jar contest is open to all attendees/vendors/speakers but must be present to win

* No infused or flavored honey allowed  

 * Exhibitor may submit up to three (3) entries. 

* The required jar will be provided to the Exhibitor by the Show Secretary at the sign-in table. The Exhibitor will transfer their entry into the provided jar and then return the provided jar to the show secretary. The entry will then be assigned a random number only known to the secretary.  

*ALL BLACK JAR ENTRIES, and the contents thereof, become the property of the BAC Honey Show upon submission to the honey show secretary. Black Jar entries WILL NOT BE RETURNED to the Exhibitor at the end of the honey show. 

GENERAL RULES FOR JUDGING

* Judges (conference attendees) will evaluate entries for taste & flavor only.

* Tickets for judging will be available for purchase for $1 each. 

* Saturdays judging will be narrowed down to the top 5 

* Sundays judging will be narrowed down to the top 3 winners 

PRIZES & AWARDS

* Winners must be present to win prizes

*  Contest will have 3 winners (1st - 3rd place)

* 1st place will receive a ribbon and 50% of amount collected from ticket fees 

* 2nd place will receive a ribbon and 25% of amount collected from ticket fees

* 3rd place will receive a ribbon 

* the remaining 25% will go back to BAC for supplies needed for the contest 

GENERAL RULES FOR ENTRY

* The Honey Jar Label contest is open to all attendees/vendors/speakers but must be present to win

* Exhibitor may submit one (1) label of your own design. 

* The  label must be affixed to a jar of honey no more then 1lb 

* Label must have your state's requirements included in order to be considered as a winner 

GENERAL RULES FOR JUDGING

* Judges (conference attendees) will evaluate entries for aesthetic appeal, technical compliance, creativity, and originality

* Tickets for judging will be available for purchase for $1 each. 

* Saturdays judging will be narrowed down to the top 5 

* Sundays judging will be narrowed down to the top 3 winners

GENERAL RULES FOR ENTRY

* The Painted Boxes contest is open to all attendees/vendors/speakers but must be present to win

* An Exhibitor may submit three (3) examples of any painted beehive of their own composition.  

* Acceptable styles of hives are Langstroth-style hive, a Warre-style hive, a top-bar hive, a horizontal-style hive, or a nucleus hive. 

* Each entry may include up to three (3) hive bodies for each entry, at the Exhibitor’s discretion (of the Langstroth, Warre, and nucleus styles only).   

* The artwork on each hive must be the original composition and work of the Exhibitor. * The exhibit must not be signed or bear any identifying marks.
